UT Global Initiative Hosts Leadership Training for Young African Entrepreneurs

By Jessica Sinn July 8, 2014 facebook twitter email

This summer, 25 competitively selected emerging entrepreneurs from Sub-Saharan Africa are participating in a six-week academic institute with leadership seminars hosted by the UT Global Initiative for Education and Leadership.

The young business leaders (ages 25-35) are part of a larger group of 500 Washington Fellows that will be hosted across the United States this summer. While at UT Austin, they will participate in an array of leadership-training activities to learn how to create sustainable projects in their communities.

In addition to the seminars offered by the UT Global Initiative, the International Office’s summer academic institute includes:

  • Campus housing
  • Business courses taught by leading faculty in the College of Liberal Arts
  • Networking opportunities with business leaders and politicians in Texas
  • Intercultural activities, including field trips to historic sites and local landmarks

Visit the International Office’s website to learn more about the Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders, happening now on the Forty Acres.
